The third edition of the Emirates Perfumes and Oud Exhibition, the region’s premier event for the fragrance industry, officially opened yesterday, Friday, at Expo Centre Sharjah and will run until 12th October.

Organised by Expo Sharjah with the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), this year’s edition features over 150 exhibitors and 500 major local and global perfume brands, recording a 50 percent increase in exhibitors compared to the previous edition.

The festival was inaugurated by H.E Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI and Chairman of Expo Centre Sharjah, accompanied by H.E. Waleed AbdelRahman BuKhatir, Second Vice Chairman of SCCI, and several board members.

The opening ceremony was also attended by H.E. Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI, and H.E. Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre, along with several officials from the Chamber and Expo Sharjah, distinguished guests, and representatives of leading participating fragrance companies and brands.

Following the official launch, the attendees toured the venue, interacting with exhibitors who showcased their key products and innovations in the fragrance industry. They praised the exceptional organisational standards and the strong international participation that reinforces the exhibition’s position as the region’s premier gathering for fragrance experts and enthusiasts alike.

The Emirates Perfumes and Oud Exhibition demonstrates a significant international footprint, drawing more than 25,000 visitors from within the UAE and abroad. This year’s edition features broad international and regional participation from leading countries in the fragrance sector, including Oman, Turkey, China, India, Qatar, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.

This wide representation not only diversifies the exhibition’s offerings and enriches the visitor experience but also enhances opportunities for knowledge exchange and cooperation across both regional and global perfume markets.

In his remarks, H.E Abdallah Sultan Al Owais affirmed the Sharjah Chamber’s commitment to positioning the perfume and oud industry as a strategic growth sector within Sharjah’s economic agenda.

“With strong consumer demand for luxury products, cultural resonance, and deep connection to the UAE’s authentic heritage, the fragrance industry offers strong growth potential. Specialised exhibitions not only serve as commercial platforms but also as a growth engine, enhancing the competitiveness of national products in global markets and creating direct channels of communication between innovators and end-users,” he said.

Al Owais added that the “Emiratis for Oud and Perfumes” Platform featured by the exhibition functions as an entrepreneurship accelerator to nurture young Emirati talent. The initiative exposes Emirati entrepreneurs to a live marketplace where they can test their new products, build a customer base, connect with experts, and transform their passion into scalable and sustainable ventures that effectively contribute to the national economy.

For his part, H.E. Saif Mohammed Al Midfa stated that the third Emirates Perfumes and Oud Exhibition represents a valuable addition to Expo Centre Sharjah’s event calendar.

He pointed out that the significant increase in exhibitors reflects the strong confidence that key industry players place in Expo Centre Sharjah as a pioneering platform capable of delivering tangible commercial outcomes.

Al Midfa added that the exhibition drives sustained increases in direct sales and facilitates the expansion of international business networks among top fragrance brands. The event also enables participants to tap into new export markets, further strengthening Sharjah’s position as a pivotal hub for the luxury fragrance trade and industry.

A highlight of the exhibition is the “Emiratis for Oud and Perfumes” Platform, a strategic initiative launched by the Sharjah Chamber to support Emirati talents in the perfume industry. The Platform has drawn significant visitor turnout since the opening.

It provides young Emirati entrepreneurs with direct market exposure to a global audience of traders, buyers, and consumers, serving as an active incubator and launchpad for SMEs. Its objective is to enhance the competitiveness of the UAE’s perfume, positioning emerging Emirati perfume labels for global market entry.

The exhibition offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore and access an extensive range of high-end Emirati and Gulf perfumes, including special releases and limited collections presented by major international fragrance brands at competitive prices, complemented by a selection of premium oud, incense, and heritage-inspired scents.

Beyond sales, the exhibition facilitates direct engagement between buyers and leading industry professionals, enhancing brand visibility and strengthening market connections. It operates daily from 12:00 PM to 10:30 PM.
